How it works from Derby

The written half at home, the rest a few minutes from where you are.

  1. 1

    Do the theory at home

Video, audio and practice questions, on your phone or a laptop. Evenings, weekends, whenever you get a window.

  2. 2

Come in for the classroom and practical

Floors 1 and 2, 4 Babington Lane. You are assessed in person, by a working electrician.

  3. 3

    City & Guilds marks it

Nothing you do online is marked. It gets you ready, and you earn the award in Derby. Safe Isolation is the exception: that one is our own CPD, and we certify the theory and the practical.

Why take an electrician course in Derby with us

We are down the road

No hotel, no long drive, no booking a day around someone else's diary. The centre is in the city centre and the classroom is ours.

This is an engineering town

Rail, aerospace and manufacturing all sit on maintenance teams. Safe Isolation and PAT Testing are the fastest things to add to a plant or facilities ticket.

PAT Testing

Your tutor works here too

The people teaching are working electricians and City & Guilds approved assessors. They are on the same jobs, in the same town, as you.

Training a Derby team?

Manufacturers, contractors, facilities teams and housing providers all send people to us. Your staff do the theory around shifts, then walk in for the classroom and practical.

  • Pay on invoice. Send us your purchase order number and we raise the invoice against it. One PO can cover several bookings.
  • Or pay by card for the whole team at once, in full or in three with Klarna.
  • Book now, name people later. You will not always know in October who is free in November.
  • Nobody starts until you say so. Stagger people across a rota instead of losing the whole team in one week.
  • Everyone gets their own login and their own record. Ask us whenever you want to know where your people are up to.
